Upper School Math Teacher

Summary: Nichols School is seeking an experienced math teacher to join our Upper School team for the 2025-2026 academic year. The Nichols Upper School seeks candidates who are enthusiastic about joining a collaborative teaching team, overseeing the academic and social growth of a group of advisees, and assisting in the overall school life at Nichols.
We are seeking candidates with the ability to teach a range of courses, from Algebra I through AP Calculus, with a particular focus on AP Statistics. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in mathematics, a passion for working with adolescents, and a commitment to creating a challenging and supportive classroom environment.
Responsibilities:- Plan and teach four sections of Upper School math with a focus on AP Statistics.
- Advise a group of students (approximately 9-11) within a grade/divisional framework.
- Create a classroom space that is differentiated, engaging, and responsive.
- Integrate tools and technology as appropriate to support learning.
- Identify and respond to the individual academic, social, and emotional needs of students, including learning differences, in collaboration with our Learning Specialist.
- Attend scheduled division, grade-level, and department meetings.
- Participate in the traditions, culture, and events of the Upper School.
Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a related field; master's degree preferred.
- Experience teaching in an upper school mathematics classroom.
- Experience with pedagogy, student-centered learning, integrated curriculum planning, course design and delivery, and authentic measures of student learning.
- A commitment to creating an inclusive classroom community with clear and practiced expectations that allow a multitude of perspectives to be heard and respected.
- A love of working with upper school students and colleagues, thereby contributing to a joyful learning environment.
