    While most freshmen were settling into their second-semester routines, Olivia Popescu was halfway around the world making history. Representing her home country of Romania, the Nichols freshman recently returned from Cape Town, South Africa, with more than just a trip to remember. She brought home a gold medal from the 2026 IIHF U18 Women’s World Championship (Division II, Group B).
